hey i was wondering if u need a big tank 4 a corn??? i saw a viv in my local putshop the last day and just wondering if it will be big enough... what is a good size tank 4 a corn??? and do they need alot of space??? Thanx. :cheers:

Hi, when I got my first corn I kept it in a 20 gallon until he got around 2 feet. Then I got a 50 gallon and thats were he is with his mate. The bigger the tank the faster he grows, more exercise means he will become healther. But if the corn you are getting is just a hatchling then got with what ever you want, I like the bigger the better.

How much space you choose to give your corn is largely a matter of personal preference. Why don't you tell us what size cage/tank you are thinking of getting, and whether you are buying a hatchling/juvenile or adult corn?

I don't know about the accuracy of saying the bigger the tank, the faster it grows. Snakes grow as fast as they will. Some faster than others even if fed the same amount and same diet. Even in a small tank, a snake will continue to grow. The fallicy of a snake only growing to fit it's container is just that. That said, my new snake who's only 20" is in a 10 gl. My amel who's 31" is in a 20 gl. They both seem perfectly happy with those sizes.
