Hi.

I haven't been on in a while (ages actually) but I'm back and with a question!

I have a year old cornsnake which is over 2 foot long.

I just got a new viv today (36x18x18).

I was wondering if he needs leaving alone in it like when he was a hatchling.

Thanks,

Andy

Welcome back!

It's a good idea to leave him to settle for a few days after any big change, be it a move to a bigger home, his viv moved to a different room, new cage decor...whatever.

Give him 2 whole days and he should do just fine...oh...and don't move him just after a feed, give him 3-4 days to digest so you have a reduced chance of a regurge.

Good luck.

It can't hurt, but if the snake is well established, I know I wouldn't bother. I moved 12 or 13 hatchlings into larger tubs a few weeks ago, and I didn't bother with any sort of acclimation. They're all fine.

Thanks

Thanks for the fast replys!!!

This site is amazing. When you two had posted it had only been viewed by both of you.

What a brill site!!!

Princess had better advice, especially concerning the move/feeding precautions. :)

The hatchlings I moved had at least three days between their last feeding and their move.
