He pooped and I haven't gotten the Carefresh yet so I used newspaper and craft leaves.

What do you think?

very nice. the only thing i would suggest is moving one of the hides to the right hand side of the tank so he can thermoregulate. Where are the heaters located?

The heat lamp is on top of the enclosure. He likes to hide under the leaves and newspaper on the right side underneath the black tree thing.

Well as long as he feels secure where he hides it should be fine. Just make sure that one end of the tank is hotter than the other (temperature range between 21 degrees celcius and 31 degrees celcius) so that he has a choice of temperatures. Those leaves look very nice but might make it hard to find the faeces easily. How old is your snake?

I think he's about 4 years old. He was an adult when I got him and the store told me that he was probably about 3 at the time.

Yes, he has his choice of enviroments.

He's usually pretty good about doing his poops in the same spot, but I'm constantly checking the leaves to make sure there isn't any in his tank.

Thats fine then. My snake is also pretty good about leaving her faeces in the same spot. Always around the edge of her tank, which is handy!
Please let me know how you get on with the Carefresh (is this a brand name? and if so what sort of substrate is it?) as im currently using aspen but am looking to change to some form of towel so I can feed her in the tank. Any opinions and evaluations appreciated.

I'll let you know about the Carefresh. Yes, it's a brand name of a recycled paper product. I checked it out on the board in another post and everyone seems to think it's great.
