water bowl sizes?

does the size of a water bowl matter if the snake is just a hatchling or imbetween 2and 3 feet?should it be big enough to fit the whole snake in it or can it be a little smaller?
 
Ideally it should be large enough for the snake to curl up inside of but it's not a matter of life and death, especially if you give the snake regular baths.
