Well....what a Suprise !

Gronk

1.1 Beautiful kids....
Ok....Murphy has been roughing me up quite a bit this year. A whole clutch gone moldy, an egg bound female....figured some tough lessons were hitting me this year.

The one clutch that has looked good from the start was my Anery Motley male x Amel Aztec female (no known hets on either). Nice healthy eggs, 16 in all. I checked them Friday, saw a few dimpling (laid 6-15) and thought neat, should have some nice Normals het anery, amel, motley....

I take a peek this morning to find this ! Needless to say...I'm thrilled ! Apparently Dad was het amel....and Mom was het anery...LOL ! They're still pipping...but wanted to share my suprise (Grin).

Well isn't that just cool! Congrats on you new little ones.. Keep us posted, would love to find out the final outcomes!

Regards..

WOW! That is a nice surprise. I hope I end up being half as lucky when I get started breeding.

Congrats!
Is that a hypo in the upper right hand corner?

I was thinking the same thing...I can't tell if the eyes are pink...they look black. Great clutch and congrats Mike!

*cough*Strawberry*cough*

j/k ;)

I think that one is a hypo, also. That means the parents are both het hypo, also!

Congratulations on having such a great clutch!

Congrats .... you lucky sod! ;)

I bred my anery (hets unknown) to an amel (known not to be carrying anery) this year and got a bunch of normals.

Thanks all (Grin).

I only had 3 clutches this year, still hoping the 5 good eggs from my Bloodred x Charcoal make it. Like I said Murphy had been having a field day with me so far this year. Granted, these little ones will still need to eat....

As far as the one being a Hypo, I'll have to take a closer peek tonight after work. There were still a few yet to hatch so after a couple pics and adding a small water bowl I put the box back in the incubator. I wasn't taking any chances...LOL.

Edit: I'll have to post a pic of Mom and Dad...both are '02s from Michelle Heart. Dad was my Avatar pic for several months.

Mike,
Congratulations! Do you sell yours too? I can't imagine parting with any of mine! I love them all! I did only have six, though!

Well Mia, these are ALL looking like holdbacks atm..lol ! I'm not a "seller" per say..I did do a "lot" sale to one person locally last year.

Aside from this "suspect" Hypo....it now turns out with 15 of 16 hatched, we have a couple more unusual ones ! 2 of the "snows" are darker colored than the others...the Wife and I are confused and delighted at the same time :) .

I'll have to post some more pics when I get the chance...we're really going to need "ID" help on some of these. We truly had no idea the two parents had unknown hets.

Edit: Oh btw, forgot to add...Momma Double Clutched today...LOL ! 60 days to the date she laid the first ! 9 more eggs, 7 look viable. Just been a crazy couple of days here (Grin).

Hey Mike...with that hypo in the clutch, some of the snows, amels, and anerys could be homozygous hypo, too. You would be able to tell with the anerys, of course, but the snows and amels are harder to pick out. Have fun! :grin01:

Terri..

Thanks for the tip..lol ! 2 of the "snows" have a much darker shade of pink to thier bodies...really stands out next to the others. Like I keep saying we're confused as heck...but loving every minute of it (smile).

A couple more pics of our "cornfusion" (Grin).

First pic is a close up of the suspect Hypo.

Second shows one of the darker snows right across the center of the others.

Thoughts...opinions...help?? LOL ! Btw, my Wife asked what a hypo anery looks like...if anyone happens to have a pic I'd appreciate it.
