I forgot to add this guy on Saturday-it was hiding out under my van while we were washing it & I had way too close a call with getting bit on my foot-good times lol---we used the snake tongs & bucket & relocated him back to the canal---

guess they wanted him to liven up the show with something dangerous. I know from our experiences with cottonmouths(very common around here) it would take a lot of harrassment to get them to gape for me-I saw a quick flash of white once when we chasing one out of our pond back to the canal,but so far none have sat there flashing their mouths at me,they are usually trying to get away lol

Yeah, my only experience with them was one I had in my hots collection years ago. It was just kinda a little ugly thing.

cottonmouth is easily my favorite venomous snake. its the worlds only semi-aquatic viper from what i have read although copperheads seem to constantly be found near or in water too
