Definately LOOKS like a female tail. See how it gets thinner really quickly below the vent? That's a female thing. They don't have much in their tails below the vent. A male tail will not get thinner as quickly because their sex organs and whatnot are in their tails. So I say it's a female but that's just an opinion and no one can be 100% certain all the time by just looking. You should find an experienced herp person (vet, pet shop, breeder, etc.) and have them sex it for you if you need to be certain.
And to answer your second question, I'd saw you're right about it being a normal too. Certainly looks like a normal.
Could you get a shot of her from the other side (belly) and post it, I'd be interested in seeing her tail from the belly side.
