Ive got the following corns and Im trying to work out what my best plans for breeding would be for next year or the following years.
Heres what I have:
2001
0:1 Carolina

2002
0:1 Snow
1:0 Candycane
1:0 Butter
0:1 Anery
0:0:1 Creamsicle

2003
1:0 Amel
1:0 Anery/caramel
0:1 Ghost motley

2004
1:0 Ghost
1:0 Striped motley ? normal
0:1 Reverse Okeetee
0:0:1 Amel het butter
0:0:5 Amels het butter, het anery
0:0:1 normal het butter, het anery
0:0:1 ?anery?normal het butter, het anery

one plan I have is to buy a hypo to mate with my ghost motley and another is to buy a sunglow to mate with my creamsicle.
Any suggestions anyone?

First, I'd delete the 2004 snakes from your 2005 breeding plans. And the 2003 female may or may not be big enough to breed. The 2003 males probably can breed next year.

The best thing you can do is to make a list of females and then pair each female with every male and see what the predicted progeny would be. For example, I'd mate the Carolina female to the butter in hopes of getting brightly colored babies which would all look normal but be heterozygous for both hypomelanistic and caramel.

I don't know what you mean by anerythristic/caramel. Do you mean he's both or you don't know which he is? Whichever, mating the anerythristic female to him is the best choice, IMHO.

I'd mate the snow female to either the amelanistic or the candy cane male. In both cases, you'd get amelanistic babies that would also be heterozygous anerythristic.

I wouldn't breed the creamsicle to anything.

If the 2003 ghost motley is big enough to breed, then a hypo would be a good bet with an anerythristic or ghost or motley as other possibilities.

If any of these snakes are brother-sister, then I'd choose a less closely related mate. As for the 2004s, I'd get them sexed before thinking about what to mate them to.

Hope this helps, but, as always, YMMV.

I thought a butter came from an amel x caramel.
We did mate them this year but only got one amel, which we are keeping.

Good catch! Butter is a combination of amelanistic and caramel, not hypomelanistic and caramel. Sorry about the mistake.
