When to bump her up....

I have a ghost 06 who I am feeding 2 pinks to. Ive noticed she is downing them like nothing and looking for more, do I bump her up to fuzzies? They dont sell them in the neighborhood so Id have to order them online...theres probably no sense in giving her 3 pinks right? Should I switch her to rat pinks?

The thickness of the mice are good as far as size, she is just downing them so fast and looking for more.

are they leaving noticeable bulge in her? and i think a 06 should be on some thing more. my corn is a 07 and he takes 2 pinkies every 5-7 days...

Yep, there is a noticeable bulge. I feed her on Mondays and Fridays, 2 pinks at a time. My other snake eats and settles down, I can tell she is full, this one gets more active...........

The 1.5x girth rule applies throughout a snake's life. Feed it a single, appropriately sized prey item (between 1x and 1.5x the girth of the snake) at appropriate intervals (evey 5-7 days). When the snake is eating regular size adult mice, feed females every 7-8 days and males every 10-14 days. Can't go wrong. Real simple. :)

I have a 2006 and he is on Peach rat fuzzies already...He'll be about 6months older than your one though because our season is ealier in the year. :)

I would give her a small rat pink and see how she does. :) I am sure she will be fine. But only following the 1.5 rule! lol

Another thing to keep in mind is, how long the bulge lasts...

My Aug 06 hatchlings are currently on fuzzies...
When I had extra pinks left over, I did feed them three at a time to finish them off before buying the fuzzies. I purchase about 50 - 100 of them at a time.

So basically, check the girth after they eat em, and how long the bulge lasts...

I have never used rat pinks, but that is a good idea.

One thing I shouldve mentioned and Ive realized it while looking up mice online to buy, they dont sell small pinkies here, the pinkies she is on are basically large pinkies or the size of rat pups........I went today and got a pack of what they call "Pinkies" and laughed because there is one tiny tiny one in there, half the size of my pinky.......and huge pinks with tails, that are the size of my thumbs. So when I say she is on two pinks, I dont mean the tiny ones.

Sorry for the confusion.........

I have another corn snake who is a little younger, but she is longer and thinner. She gets 2 pinks too......but her head is so tiny im afraid to feed her fuzzies.

Here is a pic of what I mean......See the tiny red pink in the middle, and the big pink one above it. Theres a vast different in size.......Ive been feeding them the bigger one. I dont know why that tiny one is in that pac, I didnt even know they came that small til yesterday.

So she is on those, their big, but I notice they still dont have hair.
