Where do I find a thermostat? (Canada)

Hi all, I'm sorry I'm sure this has been asked already but I only have my phone for internet at the moment and the search bar will not work for me. I am new to keeping snakes and thought I had everything I need but I've realised I don't have a thermostat for my heat mat. Can anyone tell me where I can find one? I've looked at pet stores around but they only ever have thermometers, not the actual plug in unit that controls the temperature. Am I just having bad luck at the pet stores? I've tried Petsmart and a few local shops but they only ever have thermometers which is not what I need. Can you get such a thing at the hardware store? Someone suggested Walmart but I couldn't find one and when I tried explaining what I need they just looked at me funny :( . I don't want my baby Floyd to get hurt so I would like to find one ASAP. Does anyone know approximately how much they cost? And what I need to ask for specifically if not at a pet shop? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!

i'd suggest going to your local garden supply or hardware store and see if they have any thermostats for seedling beds. many of us use a brand called "hydrofarm" which is exactly that. place your probe directly above your hotspot under your bedding and plug your heater into the thermostat. should work for you. good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! I am going to check out another Petsmart tomorrow and there is a Home Depot next doot so if I have no luck in the pet shop I will hop next door and ask them.

Thanks for the suggestion, I checked and Amazon.ca carries one model but it is out of stock. I will check out Petsmart and Home Depot tomorrow and let everyone know. Thanks for your help!

Oh! I also just remembered a large gardening centre in the city, if I have no luck I will go there, surely they might have something!

Cornels World, if you google it, it will show up, Greg carries a huge line of top quality reptile supplies. He is in Calgary and is an awesome guy!

I found one! I got one by ZooMed and it was my lucky day because it was on sale 30% off! I have set it all up and put the probe under the hide, between the glass and the astroturf (uth is stuck to underside of glass). The only thing I'm not keen on is there is no numerical temp, you adjust the dial and check temp manually until it's where you like. But I am fiddling with it now and getting it right! If I have it at 86F will that be ok under the astroturf? Or will it absorb too much heat. Generally Floyd doesn't crawl under it but lays in his hide on top of it. The funny part is the protective/decorative cover doesn't fit with my heat mat plugged in and it is the same brand! Oh well. I feel so relieved!
