where to locate vents

I am in the process of building new vivs im at the point of installing the vents. I have round 2 1/2" vents where do i put these ie. low down on warm side or cold side .I know i should have vents low and high and dont want to put them a$$ about face. Thanks for any help you can give.

In my big terrarium I have the vent up high on the warm side (on the side of the terrarium) and down low on the cool side. That way the convection that occurs (heat rising on the warm side because of the heat light) creates a gentle flow that keeps the air in the terrarium cycling without making it breezey.
