My husband wants to name that puppy "Xochytl"~ I was okay with it when he told me he wanted to name her "Zoshi" but when he told me it was spelled "Xochytl"~ I'm afraid he just wants a good laugh every time I have to take that dog to a vet and they try to call her name.........

Anyone ever heard of that name before?

In case you can't tell~ we are falling in love with her and thinking of naming her....(she is EVERYTHING we did not want in a dog~ hairy~ whiny~ smelly~ small~ pee's a lot~ but we are falling in love anyway)....but Xochytl??

So spell it Zoshi on her vet records, is he gonna know? LOL I found it on several Latin websites, spelled like that or Xochitl and pronounced so-shee. It appears to be a real word or name.

Thanks!
Now hubby knows he was right.....I'll never hear the end of it now........

I'll probably have them spell it Zoshi at the vet.......but this whole argument started over tags for the coller!

Tell him if he how difficult it would be for someone to pronounce her name if they found her loose! Does he want someone to try to figure out if that's her actually her name or if it means something else? I'll admit it's unique and all, but please convince him to spell it Zoshi on the tags!

PS....show him this link....maybe he'll buy you some salsa...

Real name

I studdied meso-american art history and thought it sounded Aztec or Mayan so I googled it and this is what I found:
The protector of day Xochitl (Flower) is Xochiquetzal. Xochitl is a day for creating beauty and truth, especially that which speaks to the heart who knows
It is spelled with i instead of y but I think it beautiful. I may be biased as my own last name has z,s,w, and 2 k's owe and a g.
