Yet another temp question

I now have the temp above my sub at 81.5 and it fluctuates up to 85(heated with a mat on a dimmer switch). I have a hide on both the cool side and one over the heated sub. Since I put in the new hide(drift wood with fake ivy) I have not seen my corn on the heated part. Is there any reason to be concerned by this? I know air temp is not supposed to matter but the viv is as cool as 68 at night and hovers around 75 during the day.

I remember my King snake almost never sat on his heated area even when the cage was as cool as the mid 60s in the winter.
