Your Snake Does WHAT?!

So my girl Peaches has discovered a new past time these last couple months - the Monorail. It blows people's minds when I show them a picture or video of what she does. She will literally go around and around and around the top of her tank for HOURS. Occasionally, she loses her grip and falls (and scares the crap out of me) but she gets right back up and keeps going. I'm not sure if she's trying to get out (she hasn't thus far) or if she's just doing it for a sort of entertainment...? I think she's crazy at either rate. :crazy02:

Does anybody else's snake do something weird or strange?
And has anyone else had one of their snakes do this monorail thing??

Yep, my corn used to do this in her glass tank. It was a 2ft high vive and also scared me when she fell! Except she could never make it half way before falling (not quite enough space in between the gap to hold on). So she'd go up, and fall. Plop. Up, and plop. One night she did this for an hour and a half! Got on my nerves a wee bit... ;)

Any snakes I have had in a viv with an edge like this, they eventually find the space and use it to circuit the tank until they grow way too big to fit.

Yes falling seems to be more traumatic to us humans than the snakes.

Do be careful, this sort of exploring has led to escapes because they will look for any little weakness in the lid while they are there.

My king snake did this too. I freaked out cause I did not see him in the bottom part then noticed his tail slipped down.. They sure do some silly things..
