Getting a bull snake

yellowbellyhippy

PaganVeganHippie!
Well, I am getting a bull snake this weekend. Any advice? Thoughts? It is an adult and Ive never owned one so I would love to hear anything!

Thanks! :)

Well, they can be a bit nippy depending on how much they have been handled. My friend had one who was an exceptional escape artist, but a big one shouldn't be so bad at escaping. Oh, and they may "speak" ^_^

I can't give you any advice on keeping them, but best of luck. Bull, Gopher, and Pine Snakes have always been a snake that I would love to own in the future, so congrats to you, and I can't wait to see some pictures :)!

I will be getting a couple of gopher snakes this spring. I know someone who has one and she is breeding hers to an albino male... It will be cool. Good luck with your bulls. I hear they are really fun to keep.

I have a normal male Bull and a Whitesided female.. besides a southern pine
and 2 gophers.. I love my Pits.. awesome snakes, will get larger than corns,
Some have attitudes, but with regular handling mine are awesome.
Good Luck.. and as mentioned earlier, pics will be a must.

How big is the adult and how often is it held?
I have a female right now that is over 6 feet. Not as big as my favorite Sonoran Gopher was but this one is a sweet snake.

Now gonna be blunt and honest. These snakes will either love you or hate you. Trust me on this, i am one of the guys that Got Gene into them. I personally own.
2.3 Bull snakes.
2.0 Pacific Gophers.
1.0 northern Pine
lol and a whole Slew that Gene sent me during the Fall.
I think they are a great basin, a pacific and a sonoran gophers.

Here is a thread of my Albino Male and het for albino female.

And here is my Albino White Sided Bull I picked up from Dav Kaufman.
