any suggestions on other things i will gladly take :)

Nice looking truck. Only problem is, it doesnt look like a four wheel drive. If you are planning on mud boggin, four wheel drive is kinda a must have thing. If I am wrong and it is four wheel drive I apologize. If it is not four wheel drive then the best thing you can get is a different truck. That is if you really want to get in the mud or go climbing.

Again, if it is a 4X4 then the list you have is already a good start. Best go do small steps at a time, then you know what works and what dont. If you add a bunch of parts at once and something goes wrong you dont know which part is the problem.

Good luck,
Jimmy

yes my truck is the 4x4 off-road package. i do alot of mudd boggin now so im good at it.

just looking for a few mods to do this summer. i gotta have me a project lol

your kit sounds good, but i just gotta say, i don't like 1500s!!!! well, all of my experience with them is with chevy's, but there so weak!! and only half ton!!! seriously, put in a bigger engine...

Also, I would get a chrome air filter on your engine if you want to redo that. also, go for the good quality piston covers. (cant remember the exact name i think i got that right) The cheaper ones will not look as good in the long run go for edelbrock covers.

lights are a good choice, but once again i am crazy about chrome. chrome trim around the lights man... and maybe a roll bar on your pickup would look good.. but just put on the kind where it goes around the back of your cab then has a sharp incline down to meet the side of the bed about 9 inches away from the cab. (and of course, make it CHROME!!!)

Hope that helps!

Mr. 124
The 1500 designation has nothing to do with engine size. Chevy’s are not weak in any way. Chrome air filters and valve covers do not make a truck go faster, nor do lights and roll bars.

i am aware of that mr. wade. (lol)
1500 is the model number for the smaller size pickup, which in my experience, is to weak and to light to do any towing. (experience from farm trailers)

I thought he wanted a good look as well as good capabilities for muddin. at least thats how I took it....

my dodge can tow a good amount. maybe weak for what you tow but i can tow and payload alot. i have a 5.9 360 inside that and its sucks gas and hauls ass. im a chevy man at heart. and a dodge man all the same. i couldnt find a diesel truck i wanted otherwise i would have a cummins turbo diesel. no one see's my engine so i am not wasteing money on edelbrock covers.

thanks for the suggestion but i on the other hand dont like chrome. my truck is powerful. i can out tow alot of trucks when i go to street car chaos by me. i have done sled pulls in the mud before with no problems. but thank you for the input.

and the truck i had before this was a 1988 chevy 1500 with a 454 in it. that would out pull alot of other trucks.

ashes to ashes dust to dust if it wasnt for fords my tools would rust. :p

Does it have heated seats? Kim's truck does and it's heaven when we've been dealing with the horses in cold weather to thaw out your rear! (Ooooooh, and to be really cool you need the suspension that you can make the truck jiggle about like it's dancing, for the comedy effect). And you need a light tint on the front windows.
I may stop there, or feel the urge to add more pearls of wisdom..........unlucky for you I was forced to watch some Pimp my Ride programs by my boys last year..........

lol my suspension does make my truck jiggle 3 inch lift makes it sturdy but bouncy lol

and no i odnt have heated seats. i dont like leather lol i like cloth much better in the summer :D

From when we've done a little bit of green-laning and got really bouncing, I'd say warning your passenger to brace so they don't hit their head on the roof is a must, unless you go for racing harness.
I have to say, when I visit my friends to play with the horses, getting to boing around off-road is a great part of the fun. I don't drive, but I get plenty of chances to scare myself silly when they get me to move the trucks around.:)

ok.

We are able to tow 6 cows at a time so thats 1200 pounds x6, plus an old rusty iron stock trailer. We use a 1992 chevy 2500.
360 is pretty good, but i don't know how they perform just because I am acustome to chevy sizes. (305 350 390 402 454 457 etc)
Chevy all the way :)
btw if you get a cummins get one of the older models. The computers in the new ones are finicky and hard and expensive to repair. or get just the old engine and put it in a newer body.

ok and just for fun, i don't think you would like this song:

lol

ok. I am partly biased because my dad HATES half tons. 3 quarter baby! all the same, as long as its chevy, i can live with it.

Okay! well, now that I know we are serious here, no more BSing around.

I think 33's are a very good way to go, but I am not sure 3" of lift will be quite enough. It will be close. You didnt mention if it was suspension or body lift. You definitely want suspension lift for mudding. Once your frame bottoms out in the mud your done. Suspension lift will get your frame higher. Body lifts are usually much cheaper though. If you find that 3" of suspension isnt enough and your tires rub or something, then you could probably add another 3" of body lift for $100 to $150.

In my opinion, Im with you - Flowmaster is the baddest soundig muffler there is! Ive got two on my truck.

As far as pulling your motor and going through it, I would disagree there. Unless there is something wrong with the engine, like it smokes bad (rings or valve seals) or it just has too many miles (200K+) I wouldnt go internal. You can get loads more power without that much money or work. Headers, underdrive pulleys, better airflow package. Believe it or not, Ive changed cams out with the engine still in the vehicle. ;) You can swap heads, go with roller rockers, roller timing chain set,... there really is lots of horsepower you can get without all the work!!

Hope this helps,
Jimmy

oh and one other thing i like the sound of flow masters it makes them roar like a monster but would you consider puting a glass pack on it? i've always liked the sound of glass packs to..

cornsnake- im a chevy man too my 360 beats 305, 350 in races and pulls and sometimes 402's depends on how they got the truck running. my dodge is quick she hauls ass and sucks gas lol and yesi love trace adkins and that song.

jimmy- i have 3 inches in suspension lift. body lifts are stupid in my mind. and i wanna pull my motor to get it bored and stroked. take my block in then buy new lifters, pistons and connecting rods the timing chain set was a good one might look into that. also swap out my trans for something new idk what kind yet have a few ideas.

and changing cams you can do without pulling the engine lol i have done it before too. not too hard. i also wanna get new fuel injectors and maybe some edelbrock heads on it. at least you know what your talking about lol. i might swap my lift blocks out for some 6 inchers. not sure yet.
