1:30 a.m. the tones sounded and off we went. The pumper arrived just ahead of us only to radio "structure is fully involved". Fortunately no one was home at the time but we lost the entire house. It took two stations and 9 hours before it was over.

I feel sorry for those people who lost their house. But, glad you didn't mean what I thought when I read the title... To me firefight means a completely different monster.

I'm just glad no one was in there. At that time of night you'd almost expect it. Oh and in case anyone was wondering I grabbed the pics as I was walking from getting a new air bottle!:)

That is a GOOD working job -- plenty of red stuff to put the wet stuff but no one in the building! As long as no one got hurt on the scene, it's all good. Nice pictures, too!

Thanks, luckily the gas stove roared after our Charley entry team got out. We had a good laugh at how hard those flames were to put out until one of the station two guys shut the gas off!!;)

Sounds like a nearly perfect fire. How cold was it, though? Winter working jobs can be outdoor ice rinks with a fireplace at the center...:sidestep:

Yeah, but it was cooking good based on those pictures so it wasn't savable, so you might as well enjoy it. Sounds kinda like you guys were doing some sort of weird Winter Olympic sport!
