Ok, I know I have asked like a million questions, but I want to make sure I do this right.
My snake has this fake branch like thing that can be moved and coiled. I got it to help with shedding, but apparently he loves to climb it. I often find him sitting on the rim of his tank rigut under the lid. trying to get out? I assume. Anyways, he is unsuccessful (except the first day) and often falls ungracefully from the top of the 10 galon tank onto the aspen below. Is this ok?? Or is he going to hurt himself? I'm a bit worried about him.
 
My Hypo thinks she is an arboreal snake too, she loves the vine in her tank (Pic) She often dive bombs into the water dish, I gave her a perfect 10 on her dive the other night lol. They are fine if they fall, they are durable. Think of how flexible their entire bodies are to be able to swallow and move around with such full tummies.

lol oh yeah they're totally fine!! my girl does the same thing, i have a fine hooked up that she LOVES to climb, and falls off and etc. I dont know if they're exactly tryin to get out but they just love climbing and hanging and all that fun stuff!
 
Vines, grapevine wood, obstacles etc etc are all great for snakes... think about it, would you like to hang out at the same level all the time?

I use different tank enhancements and move them around to give my snakes and geckos something new to explore. I also sometimes add enhancements from the gecko tanks to the snakes for a short while as the gecko scent is olfactory enrichment

Interesting concept - geckos = dinner for a Corn! Must be like living next door to a chip shop. Bet they're good eaters!
 
HAhaha thanks everyone. I'm glad to know he's not hurting himself. I was a bit worried by all the "thumps" I heard. Ya, crazy lil guy escaped first night I got him. I thought he was burried in the aspen, but I had a weird feeling cus I hadn't seen him in a while. So, risking stressing him out I searched through all the aspen, and no Sammy. Found him about 2 feet below his viv, underneath a foot of crushed cardboard boxes. What a crazy lil guy he is. But we fixed the top, and if he can get out... I will be shocked. I mean more shocked than I was the first time. Someone told me these guys were lil escape artists but I didn't quite believe them!
 
My Isabella is a climber. Her first tank was a 55 gallon that was pre-drilled for saltwater. It had the bolt thingys in the holes (I should know what their called, I have fish...). I would stick silk vines into them and she would climb up and rest on the bolt and vine.

When I didn't have vines in there, she would still go on the bolts. Often times, she would be on the floor of the tank and I would leave the top off while I cleaned the bedding or changed water. Well one day, I got distracted and forgot about it. I happened to pass by the snake room about an hour later and I glanced. I saw Is on the edge of her tank pretty much chilling like "Uh, hey. Hey you! Do you notice something?" I'm sure if I'd left it like that all night, she would have eventually left the tank all together but she was comfortable at the time. I even thanked her for getting my attention.

My ball python babies on the other hand... well, I can't say I'd ever name one Einstein. I had a branch in their tank when I was cohabbing them. I thought one of them was going to break their neck. They fall over and hit the hides or the water dish or another part of the branch. I can't tell you how many times I almost had heart failure watching them! None of them ever got hurt, maybe a bruise or two. I think that they would almost the the equivalent of that guy who was struck by lightening 7 times and lived.

Maybe snakes don't have as delicate of a pain response as humans?
