Is there any benefit or drawback to using silk vs plastic plants?

Also... Anything against using fake plants from the doller store instead of the expensive ones you find in pet stores? Of course id make sure to remove all sharp ends etc

I just took apart a plastic plant that we werent using and attached suction cups on them to connect to the glass. Any are fine. I like the plastic because it cleans better.

Some silk plants that weren't specifically made for fish tanks or vivs contain chemicals that could be harmful to the animal. I would stick with plants made specifically for the environment you're using them for.
