I just joined the forum. as my "name" says, I am the "nature lady" at Spruce Lake Retreat in the Poconos. I keep a variety of animals there, includine one very sweet corn snake. I've had him since he was a hatchling, purchased in 2006, so he'll 11 years old. I was told he is an okeetee corn, but based on pictures I've seen I don't think that's right. What do you think? This is "Opie" (name from the old Andy Griffith show) checking out a guest's camera. This pic was taken a few years ago; he's quite a bit longer now.

He is quite a lot lighter than my okeetee
...maybe a pastel morph??

I'm certainly no Morph expert, but Okeetees tend to have really thick black outlines around the saddles. Your snake Opie does not look that way. I'd say he is a beautiful "Classic" or Normal looking corn snake.

Thank you. I think he's beautiful; it really doesn't matter to me what mutation he is, I was just curious. He's one of the most popular animals in the nature center (the other is the leopard gecko). He has never bitten anyone in his life. And I know a number of families who have purchased corn snakes because of Opie.

Hi SLRnaturelady. Welcome to the forum. Your snake Opie is totally gorgeous. Glad you found us. This is a great place to share your love of corn snakes!
