I hope to add to this debate by breeding our White Oak Grey Ratsnake to an Amel Cornsnake to see if we can shed some light onto this dilemma. Who knows what results may turn out but I hope to get some information that may help determine where the Ultra gene came from. Hopefully the results may put to rest whether or not Ultra is a "True" Cornsnake genetic trait and not a hybrid.Ssthisto said:Ultramels might be the result of Grey Rat (Pantherophis obsoleta spiloides) X Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttattus).
PJCReptiles said:I am not sure what the "Trade Name" may be for the "Normal" looking hybrids but I do know if you cross an albino Black Ratsnake to an Albino (Amel) Cornsnake you get what they call Bubblegum Ratsnakes.
And a pair of Normal, suspected Black rat (might be Texas rat)x Corns:
