Elaphe Obsolete X Elapha Guttata

Ultramels might be the result of Grey Rat (Pantherophis obsoleta spiloides) X Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttattus).

I've seen one or two Everglades X Corn crosses, but don't have a handy photo.

And if you look for "Het Pearl Corns" on Google you might find some Texas Rat X Corn photos.
 
Yes, Black Rat (Pantherophis Obsoleta Obsoleta) X Cornsnake (Pantherophis Guttata) pairings have been done. I am not sure what the "Trade Name" may be for the "Normal" looking hybrids but I do know if you cross an albino Black Ratsnake to an Albino (Amel) Cornsnake you get what they call Bubblegum Ratsnakes. Here is a couple of pictures of the one I am thinking of purchasing. I think they are very attractive and I am not really into hybrids. Hope this is what your looking for.

I hope to add to this debate by breeding our White Oak Grey Ratsnake to an Amel Cornsnake to see if we can shed some light onto this dilemma. Who knows what results may turn out but I hope to get some information that may help determine where the Ultra gene came from. Hopefully the results may put to rest whether or not Ultra is a "True" Cornsnake genetic trait and not a hybrid.

So amelanism between corns and black rats is compatible? :shrugs:...
 
If I am not mistaken, there are 2 amel genes, found in black rats. one is compatible, one is not.

A good friend of mine looked at this fellow earlier this year.. I can't say for sure, as we don't know his heritage.. Sort of a rescue of sorts.. My friend figured there might be some black rat influrence on this guy.. Maybe, can't say for certain, like many things in this trade.. This guy is on the verge of five foot and can easily take a rat fuzzy..
