Hey guys, it's been a while!

I have been keeping a detailed feeding and weight chart ever since I got Frostbite, my snow. He was born in the month of July, which would put him at about 5 to 6 months old now. My last weighing period was 11/26, he weighed 18.4 grams. Coupled with finals week and a bit of social trauma, I haven't been able to get a weight on him until today. As of today (12/19), Frost weighs a whopping 32 grams. I thought my scale was broken. I re-weighed him 5 times. I couldn't believe it! Is this normal? I've been feeding him via the Munson plan very vigilantly. He was being fed double pinkies which weighed 2.5g each every 5 days. I was waiting until he hit 24 grams to make an order for small fuzzies, but since he weighs SO much now, should I just order regular fuzzies now?

how exactly do you weigh a snake? do you get a container, weigh the empty container, and then put the snake in it and then weigh the container again? this is the only way i can think of to weigh a snake without it slithering off, or getting an inaccurate reading. i also wondered how exactly everyone MEASURED their snake, but i realized that you can just measure their shed.

Its good to keep a log of everything. The grams will sneak up on you like that. My boy gains roughly 20 grams every month on the Munson plan, so instead of waiting for him to be a certain weight to bump up a size, I plan ahead based on what he gains. Same thing with my other corns, their all on the same plan, one girl gains 14 grams in a month and another 25 grams.....

Their all different I think thats why individual logs are best. My 06 female finally caught my 07 Jun hatchling in weight, their both 98 grams.

Other thing is the bigger the food, the easier they put on weigh.

Frostie is going on fuzzies his next feed, Dec. 26th. I'm anxious to see his reaction to such a big meal! I had to pick up a pack of 3 at pet-co because the mouse factory was shut down for the holidays and I can't get an order placed until after the 26th, which is fine, but I want him on bigger better food asap.

Man, he's growing to be such a beautiful little boy, too. I love how I can start to see his scales a lot better and how thick and muscular he's getting. He's so tame and a joy to handle, too. :D

What is "the Munson plan"?? I just got my corn and I was wondering what it is? Also how do i tell if my snake is female of male? I was told it was a he but I have heard that the stores can be wrong.

Awesome growth there Nastassja!

The Munson Plan:

-Single pinks (2-3g) every 4-5 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 4-5 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (24-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+)
-Jumbo Adults (40-50g) every 7-x days (Snake = 400g+)

yep pretty much well thats what i do anyway im sure there are many methods! but as for measuring sheds they stretch so you dont get very accurate measurements! there is a program which will measure your snake for you just search for measuring snake in the search bar and im sure youll find it!!!

Actually you can't just measure their shed it stretches up to 30% when they are shedding. Sorry don't remember how to get to the thread to measure. I often put them on the bed let them stretch mark each end and then measure, it's not completely accurate but closer then measuring the shed. susang
