From the guy who called his snake Chompy..lol! Which is still a really cool name by the way!

I didn't name it! My girlfriend did.

If naming things was upto me i'd have a dog called Dog and a snake called Snake. My girlfriend names EVERYTHING, Hence why when all 3 laptops are turned on our list of networked computers reads "Earl" "Randy" and "Larry"... The iPods called "Smurf". Worse part was when she named my (then) work van "Brum" because she thought it was "Cute" - Didn't bother me until the name stuck in my head and i accidently blurted it out at work when referring to the van with a colleague. Never lived that one down!.

Funny names are fun, Its not as its going to know if its named after something intelligent like a constellation of stars or something fun, like a fart joke anyway.

Plus funny names are a great ice breaker when first introducing people to your new pet!.

Funny names are... funny. Which is good. But, I prefer to name snakes after things I have in my head or artists I'm listening to at the time, for example when I got my Beauty Snake I had a song in my head by The Rasmus... so I named him Rasmus. When my Corn came I was listening to Rufus Wainwright... so I named him Rufus.
It's up to you really... I'm really into Ancient History so if it's a girl I'd go with Isis and if it's a boy... Khufu! :)

My next snake is going to be either a BP or a Hognose.

If its a BP he'll be called капита́н Борис Горбачёв (Captain Boris Gorbachyov) - Boris for short.

If its a Hognose, Fluffy.

 I left sally unamned until i found out it was a girl, and my boy friend named the motley stripe, stripe and squash is a butter as in butternut squash

I ment suggestions, but everyone went comedic.

It is hard to come up with a serious name for someone else. Serious names normally have some meaning behind them. That meaning usually applies to the person naming it.

No one meant any ill will by suggesting comedic names.

Benny is a cute name.
