Ready to move up to large pinkies already?

Hey everyone, I have another question. I'll probably have millions seeing as I've only had a corn snake for a couple days and it's my first. Sorry in adnvance!

So my dear little Cornelius is digesting his meal from yesterday. I noticed yesterday (don't worry I didn't touch him and wont for 48 hours) that he seemed to eat the small pinky faster than I've seen snakes eat in videos, and I cannot even see a lump in him where the mouse is, which is something else I've seen in pictures of snakes after eatting. Sorry I didn't get a picture of the pinky before he ate it with it next to him so he oculd see, but if you'd like I could take a picture of the other frozen one I have in its bag still, and put it next to him for comparison.

But do you think he's already ready for the large pinks? He's only about a foot long. Should I give it a try next time?

Alrighty thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it! I'll try giving Cornelius a large pinky next time.

same problem

i had the same problem with mine, but it was kinda to late to go buy bigger ones cause i buy in bulk...but anyways you could feed it a couple small ones if you have to like im forced to do for the time being...

Well, go ahead and buy large pinkies in bulk. If they are too large, cut them up for your snake. That way you can buy in bulk.

I like you, buy in bulk from rodent pro, and when star eats one of their pinkies, it doesn't leave a big lum in her, so should I feed her 2 pinkies??:shrugs:

If you cannot discern where the mouse is right after you feed it to her then it is safe to go up to the next size. If you don't have the next size available (like me), then you can feed her 2 pinkies. I'm currently feeding Flash two small pinkies until they're gone then I'll buy large, 3 day old pinkies for him. :)

If you weigh your snake you can have a simple feeding plan.Im guessing yours is a hatchling so grab a scale and go by this .....

Pinkie Every 4-5 days if you snake is 4-15g

Double pinkies every 4-5 days if your snake is 16-23g

Fuzzies every 5-6 days if your snake is 24-30.

And so on..... If you want to full chart here is the link....
