I don't know about mites and mite treatment but when I have to bath mine, I make the water warmish, it shouldn't be too hot, they don't like that, it should be ever so slightly cool to human touch. Also, I usually only make it deep enough to just cover the snake, with a small towel (wet of course) underneath them for grip. Most of them just sit in there and soak a bit, much less stressful than swimming around and not being able to grip on slippery sides and bottom of bath.

Firstly, giving your snake a bath will NOT solve your mite problem. It may give your snake some relief for a while. You need to search mites and find out how to treat them.
Secondly, 'warm' water isn't good. Use a thermometer. Warm to you could be burning your snake. When bathing my snake I usually make it just deep enough that they can swim, but shallow enough they can stop and easily hold themselves above water. Make it about 25 - 28 degrees C. Use clean water and do not use regular soap.

Bathing a snake why? They are snakes they can swim in deep water and they can hold themselves up with no effort. They are snakes they are used to swimming, why bathe a snake, I just don't get it. They are not a puppy there should be no reason why you need to bathe a snake. Put a large tupaware of water in the viv and allow them to swim if they choose. If it is a shedding thing place a tupaware in with moist spegnamoss and allow them to seek it out on their own. Snakes will survive in the harshest of environments Do humans come into their home and give them a bath, I think not. Stop bathing your snakes it just is not right.

It's good exercise for one that is older and perhaps a little heavy, but it's swimming, not bathing as you would do a puppy. Also, for me I use to do it regularly with my older guy because I'd rather clean his large poop piles (he's on rats) out of the tub, instead of off me or the floor or the couch or the chair or the.... He doesn't do it anymore, so he doesn't require regular swim sessions.
As for temperature, I never used a therometer, just the underside of my arm, just like testing a baby's bottle. It needed to be very, very lukewarm. The chill taken off, but little else. It was always in the tub and the back end was always dry, I'd put just some in the front end under the faucet to encourage the swim.
Our snakes do not get the exercise they would in the wild.

I just built a couple of viv's for my snakes for cheap, I used ply wood I stained it with the proper stuff and it is 4'x 2'x 2' it made out of wood you are able to attach real branches to the side of the viv so it has full ground cover and branches going the hole way so it is leveled so any kind of snake can climb and get all the exercise they need. I understand of older snakes not wanting to climb so you let them swim thats fine. To the others that actually bathe them no.
the reason i wanted to bath my snake is because of mites.. i had previosly bought somehting at a petstore that i could wipe him down with to kill the mites on him.. And i thought a bath would help the dead mites come off. i know that alone would not take care of the mite problem.. i did buy provent a mite. cleaned out the enitere viv. threw out the old aspen.. disinfected all his hides and water bowl. then sprayed it al with provent. i also sprayed the newspaper that i was going to be using. i let it dry out in the back yard for about 3 hours before putting in back in my room....and on a good note.. i woke up this morning to a nice clean shed!!

We should use the term "Soak" instead of "bathe" because I think some people are confused. Soaking your snake will get rid of the initial problem being your mites, but you should know there are millions of eggs in your bedding, and attached to the glass around the bottom rim of your cage... and THAT will have to be treated to prevent soaking your snake everyday, and an inevitable death.

Ps. Dr Flea will not solve your problem, not at all. Its just going to kill the mites on your snake, and not the eggs. You need to find a way to kill the eggs (I posted one way to do it a few times, so it should be easy to find).
i bought some other stuff at the local pet store to get rid of the mites ON the snake.. then i cleared out the viv.. washes it down inside and out with a bleach solutuion.. let it dry out. the sprayed it all with provent a mite.. as well as all of his hides and the newspaper.. so hopefully this will prevent him from getting more mites

This is very good, as long as you do not use Provent a mite on your snake.
I hear this will dehydrate them a bit so make sure you have PLENTY of FRESH water in your cage during this time. Keep an eye on your snake as well during this time.
What did you buy to kill the mites off the snake? I actually recommend using normal liquid hand soap on the snake, but do not get it on the snake's head.

After shed, I would clean the cage, take out everything and just wipe down again.
Make sure you get the shed out. This will help the snake.

wipe down the entire tank again? just did it last nite and put in new newspaper and all.. and the shed is out, as i was waking up this monring he was about halp way done. once i was out of the shower he was all done. so i took it out..

yes, mites come off on the shed. That is why I recommended you to clean out the cage after the shed as well.

I would also recomend cleaning the enclosure at least 2 more times within the next week just to kill off any remainins mites that may have hatched from stray eggs it takes about 3 days for eggs to hatch and most sprays wont nkill them and water dosent drown the egg.
I would normally recomend to clean the tank every 3 days for 2 weeks but since you said your snake shed imediateley after the first cleanig then most of the mite eg that would be laid under his skin wold be gone so you got lucky on that.
