Shedding!!

Hi All.

My Amel Shed on the 22nd May. I went to change his water, and I looked at him and it looks like he is going to shed again. Is that strange or is it a good thing that he's shedding again? I got told that it was a good thing because it means he is growing ?

Jus wanted some other opinions. ? ?

Sounds normal to me, once a month is typical.

Do you know how old the snake is? hatchlings, and some yearlings, that are still growing shed quite often, usually once a month or in some cases every other month.

If it's an older snake, say an adult, than there might be some other reason for the shed.

When mine that are under a year are growing really fast, their sheds can be more often than once a month; even three and sometimes even two weeks apart. This has been when they're putting weight on and getting longer pretty fast, though.

He is still under a year old, Since I have had him he has shed once and I have had him about a month or just over now.
So yeah he is still growing, So, the shedding is good then ?
He has now gone a really milky colour so I take it he will shed in the next few days ?

It sounds like him shedding now is right on track with what I've experienced to be good. He'll actually go clear for a couple or few days after this "milky" color subsides, then he will shed. I didn't know this when I first got snakes and wondered where the shed skin was. Ha ha.
You're doing good. Keep asking questions. This is how most of us learned most things about corns, I think. Also, no one here seems to think any question is too strange. Believe me, a lot of us have asked some off the wall ones. That's how you learn.
Let us know, and maybe post some pics after he sheds? We do love pics around here!

Hi Thanks for all your help daneale. Yeah on his last shed he went clear and I wondered what was going on because there was no Skin anywhere
But I got confused as he is shedding again so quickly but as it is a good thing im happy means he is happy and he is growing nicely hehe

Yeah I will put some pictures of him up when he has shed. Ill take some of him before his shed aswell.

Well, you are certainly welcome. It's not like I completely know what I'm doing. I started out with my first corn in September (had a bull and a nippy king many years ago) and have five now with pippies coming soon. The only reason I have so few, as of yet, is money and space; but ha ha I'm making more space by going up with the new vivs.
I do look forward to pics. And, congratulations on your snake growing well. I've had a couple that have had a rough time at first. It doesn't look like you're having that problem. Good for you.
