Horrified

My--YoYo
Every time I went out to Ocean Beach (once a Mo.), I would pass a place called Reptile City and each time, would tell my hubby that I wanted to go in. Welllllll, yesterday we went in and I was HORRIFIED. I was so depressed when I left there. I have NEVER seen such filthy conditions that they had their snakes and reptiles in. Two huge boas were together and looked so pitiful. Almost all of the cages or vivs had more then one snake in them and they were filthy. The place smelled too. I went to one side of the store and there was a Huge Iguana in this cage. He had a small plastic box in there with water that was literally sludge from his poop. All of the animals looked so bad to me and I told my husband I just wanted to get out of there. There HAS to be someone that I could notify on the conditions, but who would I get in touch with. I was so disturbed about it that I dreamt about it and was ill this morning when I got up. How in Gods name can people run a business and not even give a hoot about their animals? They had many snakes, iguana, bearded dragon, many different kinds of turtles and all of the enclosures, FILTHY. Please help me to find someone to turn these creatures in to. I am just sick about it. Thanks

Thanks for your help. I DID get in touch with the SPCA and am hoping that they don't wait too very long to check on this place. I wish I could adopt all of the critters they have in there.....

Stay tuned in the process... Maybe you'll be able to adopt at least some. ;)

Contact the local Animal Control, they are by law required to go and look at the place. Also there should be a city Vet that has to do the inspection on the place once a month as well and you can contact that person. Hope that helps and good luck.

that sucks theres a pet shop by me that was like that, i called the rspca and they went an got the place up to code. Still wish they had got the animals out of there though. Keep us updated.
