Mr. Enigma!
I went to go feed my "almost" 2 year old BR named Hades, today. This is a first for me and the weirdest things to happen of yet. So I placed him in his feeding bin and closed the lid. I selected a pinkie from bowl and opened the lid. As I reached into the tub to lay it down, that sucker struck right at it, went right past it and got my finger. Not a big deal, has happened before.
So I dropped the pinkie and he was latched on good to the side of my finger and coiled right around it. I figured I would wait him out. He would realize that I am not food and let go, right? NOPE!! He bagan to position himself so he can begin to swallow my finger. My wife picked up the pinkie and began to wiggle it in front of him and after a few seconds he let go.
He then immediately struck at the pinkie and this time got his own tail at the vent! He then coiled all around himself. So again, I figured he would realize that he is not food and let go, right? NOPE!! Again, he tried to swallow his own tail. We tried the pinkie thing again and this time it didn't work. To get him off, we had to get the misting bottle and give him a squirt. Finally he let go!
You would think he would be dazed by all this right? Wrong!! As soon as he hit the bottom of bin he noticed that darn pinkie and grabbed it, then gobbled it right up! I wish I got a pic of him, trying to eat himself. That was too funny!!
What a feeding response this little bugger has! I am going to now start feeding with tongs! I don't want him to gain a taste for finger! But, you never know, he could grow faster on human blood! LOL!!
I had to share this!
