Yup,

It's that time of the year again............Breeding Season!

Here are some of this year's gang showing their colouration in the bright sunlight of the day.

It must be said that some of the New Breeders for this year do not show their true colouration for, to some extent, this has been 'bleached' by the sun, however, all show their quality. ;)

Pewter '07

This guy simply screamed out Keeper when he hatched & although, at first, thought to be Hypo Pewter he has since regained some dark colouration with maturity.

He retains his original 'white sided' appearance & will become a superb silver example of a Pewter.

het. Lava, Bloodred

This beautiful female produced her 1st clutch for us in '08 & although we had hoped for a Lava Bloodred we were not blessed.

Let's hope that Murphy is with us on this one for '09 :D

het. Lavender

Bournville was such a dark hatchling that she earned this name.

Here she is as an adult & quite a contrast to the photo of the het. Lava lady.

Some further up dates as promised.

Granite '06 - a very pale example who not only displays a myriad of colours, but, she has inherited a fine combination of het. genes to compliment her valuable assets.

Stunning snakes and great pics! That pewter and granite simply make me drool... I'm not much into pewters - don't know why - but that one is GORGEOUS! So light and silvery grey. I would definitely want one just like him. :)

Thanks for all of the good comments folks, certainly makes the photoshoot worth the extra effort. :D

Ya,

The Pewter male is a, how can I say, 'pastel' example? Not a dark animal, but, one that presents with extreme lateral diffusion which highlights his silver tones.

He has been mated to the 'Prize' of 2006, the Ghost Bloodred female (photo taken a while back as she is, presently, in her pre-lay slough):

With respect to the Granite lady - she too is an extreme pale example & like her mother she presents with exceptional colouration.

She has been paired up with Ghost multi het. male..........the combination of potential hatchlings are mind boggling. :crazy01:

I'd love to hear more about this pairing! What all hets does the female and male have and what all are you expecting to hatch? I love mysteries. :D

Oh and that ghost blood female is a STUNNER! I've always loved ghost bloods. It's such a shame we don't have that morph in Finland yet.

And you seemed to have several amazing babies available. Are they all still available - the granites, avalanches and coral avalanches? Extremely beautiful individuals and what a great diffusion on all of them! If I just could sneak all the way down to England and steal that coral avalanche female...I would so badly want one but with my salary (and tendency to spend all my extra money on clothes and cosmetics) I could never afford one.

I so admire your snakes! Thanks for sharing the pics! :D

Thank you for all of your wonderful comments

We are 'shooting' for some unusual combinations with the Ghost x Granite pairing, however, the odds are not brilliant & although it will be a multi varied clutch the chances of producing something startling are 1/64.........so we shall wait & see.;)

A selection of: Ghost Bloodred; Granite; Ghost; Anery; Platinum may be present which is all good.

Only a few months to wait :grin01:

With respect to the available animals.

Yup, some are from our Keeper shelf which are now available to allow space for the '09 Keepers!

I am still considering the wisdom of parting with the Coral Avalanche female which is why she is marked up as 'Pending' for the moment.

Hey J9,

Thanks, this lady is a gem.

How are the youngsters & how many did you forget to stop at now? :D

The ghost het blood, Bonanza will hopefully pair with my granite Pearl. He almost did the deed on Thursday, but she wasn't ready yet. As he's so pastel and she's so dark, I'm really excited about what may hatch if they do mate.
The male blood red, Little Joe, isn't quite big enough to be included in the breeding plans this year.
My keepers are growing like weeds, and that makes it 23 I forgot I shouldn't really have!

Good choice of mating there with Ghost x Granite ;)

I just love the numbers crunch..........."forgot to stop at 23" should be your signature now!
