hey had my viv in my bedroom and was getting rite temps.
but had to move the viv down stairs and finding it hard to get the rite temps
i have a 300w thermostat and it wont heat the mat more than 79f why i dunno maybe not powerfull enough watt.....
My Question is whats the rite temps for the warm side?? (ireland)

Did you put an extension cord on it? If you did try it without it, or get the shortest, best cord you can.

Warm side needs to be 85-88 degrees F (about 31 degrees C).

Are you using exactly the same setup? Same mat, same stat, same thermometer? Has anything at all changed, other than the move downstairs? Are you measuring the temp on the surface of the substrate immediately above the surface of the mat?

nothing differnt just my bedroom was more warm downstairs they is more air passing true and stuff

If you're measuring the temp on the surface of the substrate immediately above the surface of the mat - and you were doing this upstairs with the same thermometer - then it sounds like either your thermometer, mat or stat are on the fritz.

What sort of thermometer do you have?

Temp on the warm side should be 80-85 with a basking area of 90. Although corns won't bask as much as other speices. Buy some different wattage bulbs and keep an eye on the overall temp of the cage.

Slow down there Hun. He's using a mat not a bulb (which is the preferred option for most here) and he's already monitoring temps, hence his initial question. And Corns don't bask as such, they use the warm end for digestion (which is why belly heat is prefereable to overhead).
