WOOOT BARRACK OBAMA

Wow - you cited wikicrapia? Geez - real informed source there. What a joke. Want me to correct it and just have it say somewhere "Nova_C" is wrong again. You know either one of us can put whatever crap up on that website that we want. I don't need to cite anything other than the constitution of these united states and the federalist papers written by my forefathers.

I'd say read them, but then you might regret that Canada decided to keep obeying royalty instead of fighting with us to be free people. I'd hate for you to get depressed like that.

Where in that does it say that democracy can only be small local governments?

I'll be more simple from now on. Those were EXAMPLES only to show the difference between the two forms of government from right here within these united states. However, I'd be hard pressed to think of a single example of a true democracy that was able to survive for any amount of time that ISN'T comparatively small. I'm not saying there are none - just that I can't think of ANY...and I would be surprised if any did survive for long (assuming it would be tried in the first place).

So what you're saying is you won't cite any sources. Alrighty. Wikipedia is an accepted source which of course can contain errors but all you've done to prove your point is huff and puff and make scary noises. Show me where Wikipedia is wrong and why you're right instead of an ad hominem attack against my country of origin.

For the record, you clearly have as little knowledge of Canada as you think I do of the US if you think we're not free. And why would Canada fight with the US against a nation we had no beef with? Canada had no need for a civil war. In fact the US attempted a war of aggression against Canada, why would Canada want to join the US?

A true democracy?

So quote me where I said the US was a true democracy. I've said more than once that the US is a representative democracy. That's the argument you should be attacking, not the one I didn't make.

KJUN, are you going to cite your sources and explain where my claims are wrong? If not, then what's your problem?

Kwhat's your problem?

Mainly that I don't see the point in taking too much time arguing American politics with someone who can't vote in my country.....and I really don't care what you think even the least little bit. I just like throwing senseless tripe back at you (and those statements of mine about Canada and royalty were meant as nothing more than senseless tripe, obviously) when you throw out tripe about my country that you only THINK you understand.

For the record, I don't have anything against Canadians or Canada. Far from it. As a general rule, I really don't find much difference between individual Canadians and individual Americans: some are great, some are useless, and most are somewhere in between those two extremes. That previous post of mine about Canada and revolutions was just trash talk in return for trash talk that you've been doing to us and about us. It was a taste of your own medicine, and you obviously didn't like it. That makes me smile. A lot. I'm happier now than I was when i woke up, and I thank you.

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison didn't know what the heck they were doing when they named their party the "Democratic Republican" party. Why in the heck would they do that do you suppose? Accident or differentiation?

Um, okay.

I wasn't aware that saying the US was a representative democracy was 'trash talking' the US. In fact, I wasn't aware that I trash talk the US at all. Could you point me to where I did so? I'd like to avoid it in the future.

Ohhh, 2 people that can't read English until they twist it to say what they want me to have stated instead of what I actually said. Kewl. It bothers me that Tom doesn't mind losing his freedoms. Nova isn't in the US, so Nov's opinions don't bother me. Whatever.

You two don't even realize that I started babbling a page and a half back so that Nova could just say s/he won and drop it. Come one. Read AND think here.....lol. I can keep this nonsense up right until I have to leave for a meeting in about 45 minutes or so.....lol. Who cares?

I think Wade had a good solution to to your problem on a recent thread KJ. If you just want to post like a jerk though, feel free. You have that freedom.

Keep smiling!

So what you're saying is you're trolling me for no good reason.

Congratulations, I guess, although I'm trying to have a real discussion here. Why on earth would you want to troll me for claiming the US is a democracy, anyway?

You know he can't.

You know he can't.

Oh right that was the point. Got it.

Yeah, I don't understand why KJUN has got such a huge problem with me. This isn't the first time he's made vague references to insults I never said.

Then please, do so. Let's see how long it remains without citations and other source material to verify whatever crap you intend to put up.

Peer review, repeatability, falsifiability, and verification....all tenets of the Wiki's terms of use.

That's the beauty of the scientific process, as well. (That's also why "Intelligent Design" has never, and will never, pass itself off as "science".)

So, instead of trolling by lambasting the source, why not address the points of the argument?

I don't need to cite anything other than the constitution of these united states and the federalist papers written by my forefathers.

Where in The Constitution is the form of government expressly specified?

Yes, it does specify the organization of the three branches, but where does The Constitution specifically say that the government is organized as a republic?

And since we ARE a nation of laws, please, tell me what legal weight The Federalist Papers presently carry. Are they used as a reference in the interpretation of The Constitution by the SCOTUS?

The Federalist Papers were simply essays advocating The Constitution's ratification....no different than the op-eds you'd see in any current newspaper. They have no legal weight.

I'd say read them...

What a coincidence! So would I!

Wow - 3 great people I'm not surprised I disagree with on pretty much everything that comes to mind......lol.

....but, the weather made a liar out of me. As much as I like to sit and argue nonsense with people I have no interest in ever meeting in person, I'm not gonna do it on the computer when there is an electrical storm causing brown-outs. I KNOW how much y'all would miss me if this PC fried......lol.

Too bad, too...because I was just about to ask Jazz if he has EVER even made a single cornsnake-related post on this forum.......lol.

Something that a simple search regarding my collection or husbandry practices would answer for you.

Far be for you to do that, huh? Just keep living in your world of presumptions.

We understand.
