I've been interested in these for awhile but never found
one I liked for a deal I could live with..
Today I found both..
The store had it "marked for clearance" so I took a look,
I picked it up and it wrapped it's tail around my finger and
just looked around. No musk or flailing around like other
garters I've dealt with.. and it's body is thicker too..
so for $9.95 I had to get it.
Here's my yet to be sexed or named Albino Checkered Garter Snake

Gene, good luck, it may be a fish eater, so thats a few times a week feedings on these guys. But damn its a looker and for $10 bucks thats a deal.

Thanks Alan, I've liked and wanted an albino and a blue for awhile now.
I have yet to see a blue in person out here though..

Thanks Jim, I couldn't turn down this deal.
They said this one eats almost anything.. LOL..
I've been reading that they need a varied diet and they said it
has eaten pinks, fish and worms.. and it doesn't musk so..??..
 
I have a few of them, they take anything for food but pinks/mice are the most rounded diet and i give goldfish as a mid week snack sometimes. You will notice that it will be much more active than a corn, I always hear them moving around the tank and they are rarely in the same place twice. The females get noticably larger than the males, I got a trio right before x-mas and they were all the same size but now the females are easily twice the size of the boy and they have the same feeding scheduele. Good luck with it.
