This is only the second time for us feeding my daughter's snake. We're going to start feeding her in a seperate container. We didn't know she could eat aspen shavings along with her meal.

Thanks. She's the first we've ever had at our house. I'm more of a fish guy, but my daughter likes reptiles so I wanted to get involved. The snake's name is Lucy.

Snakes rock your daughters new found love just may become one of yours and great job in becomming involved.

Yes, great to get involved. Fish are neat, but I bet your new snake will grow on you (literally), and you'll grow to really enjoy keeping snakes. Watching them mature is awesome, you'll find they have charming personalities as well.

Doh! You can't start in the center!!! *LOL* I love watching babies eat, it usually takes them a while to figure out how to do it . . . nice pics

I picked up some small plastic tubs from Freddie's (Like a kmart but with more food). I use those for feeding. Besides not ingesting the substrate, it is good to teach them to associate eating with the tubs, NOT their cages . . . you are less likely to get bitten when you reach in to pull them out :)

NICE! I love it when they're that tiny and eat only pinkies. LOL. I've only got one more that eats pinks... the rest are all growing!

How I envy you!!! LOL. It is also a great thing you're doing for your daughter!

Your an awesome Dad for getting involved. My Dad won't even stand in the same room as my snakes. Beautiful snake too, can't wait to see her progress... :)

Agree completely! Wish my parents had guts to expose us to more animals as kids other than the dog and cat lol.

Great pictures. Lucy is adorable. My father got me over my fear of snakes while we were camping when I was young. He used to have quite the saltwater collection back in the day and after I got my first snake he decided to set up an aquarium again. It's nice to have family that is willing to encourage and enjoy your interests.
