  • Hi all. I have a corn snake (he's about 2, and I adopted him from a family who felt they weren't giving him enough attention). We've had him for one week and he's been wonderful. He seems to love attention, "snuggling," etc. Starting Thursday, he's been hiding and rattling his tale, so we've "left him alone." Saturday evening my son (11, and he knows what he's doing)and I were handling him, and he bit my son. Sunday (the day after he bit) was when he was going to be fed. (Naturally, we fed him Sunday.) Today is Monday, and I noticed "fang" marks on one of his hides. I understand that there may be some stress for him, as he moved from one house to another. The temp and substrate are fine, I think, and we give him all the light and dark a corn snake might need. Any ideas/thoughts on the hide "gnawing?" I am new to this, but we adore him.
