I work construction, and today caught a baby snake. If I hadn't caught it when I did, it probably would be dead now.
I thought it was a Corn snake. It has marking similar to wild corns, it even has black belly checkers. I have been told by several people it may actually be an Eastern Milk...
It's spring time in Franklin Tennessee and we are enjoying some 85 to 90 degree days right now. Rat Snakes are Blooming everywhere!
This friendly guy came to visit. No, it's not a pet, this is a wild Rat Snake. And we both enjoyed each other's company.
This is the kind of story we don't always like to hear about.
A lot of folks bash the "Big Name Box Stores" in some of their posts. Not every store is like this of course, but it only takes "1 Bad Apple to............"
Anyway, there is a PetsMart store very close to me that I can only speak...
My guess is because we went down into the 40's last night and he's looking for a warm spot.
This guy/gal was huge. I estimate about 6 feet. I got close enough for the picture, and he/she just stared at me.
A friend of mine caught this snake today in her driveway sunning himself. She picked him up with a stick, took him over to some bushes and released him. Good for her.
We spotted a beautiful Speckled King Snake today in a friend's back yard. This specimen is also known as an Appalachian King Snake or Eastern King Snake. Although the Eastern King Snakes generally have the yellow rings as well as speckles, whereas this one is only speckled.
The dog was barking...
Not sure what this critter is, I'm going to guess a Gopher Snake, Fox Snake, or a Prairie King Snake. (They all look similar).
Can you imagine pulling up to the Gas Pump and grabbing this?
