More New Babies!!!

Kind of Corny
I've had a couple more clutches hatch in the past few days. The first clutch pictured is from a sunglow stripe X sunglow stripe pairing. Unfortunately only three of the eggs from that clutch survived. There is one nice female (which I will probably keep) and two males with kinked tails. Darn it! The second clutch pictured is from a snow het stripe female bred to the same sunglow stripe male that fathered the first clutch. All but one of those eggs hatched, and all the babies look nice and healthy. I got five amels and six amel stripes, which I hope will be nice and bright, like their father, after they shed.

Yay for babies! Sorry Murphy had his fingers in that the first clutch. Blanca's clutch is a yummy little pile of pinkness. Those stripes are really nice.

Thank you for the nice comments, everyone! I have had a few more clutches hatch and managed to get some pictures taken:

My bloodred het lavender X lavender clutch was pretty disappointing. The eggs looked kind of funny from the beginning, and almost all of the clutch went bad, except for one lone egg that hatched this lavender hatchling. Unfortunately he has a little kinking going on and doesn't seem interested in food so far. I am happy that he proved out him mom's het lavender status, though.

My sunglow motley het anery X sunglow motley het anery clutch came out okay with six sunglow motleys and three snow motleys. They are all healthy and are almost all males, just like the clutch this pair had last year.

This little clutch is from a lavender motley bred to a hypo motley het lavender, and it turns out they are both het for amel. All of the hatchlings are healthy. I got three lavender motleys, one normal motley, one amel motley and a nice opal motley, which I am definitely keeping.

yay grats on the hatchlings! Looks like your Sunglows had a clutch of smurfs! haha (all boys) I think that would be sire's fault if snakes are as mammals, the male (xy) contributes the x or y chromosome and females(xx) just x.

Butter Motleys

Thanks for the nice comments! Now I've got a few more motleys to add to my motley mania.... butter motleys and butters het for motley. All 15 of these eggs hatched, and they all look healthy. I got six butter motleys and nine butters het for motley. I will probably keep a pair of the butter motleys, and the rest will be for sale on my website once they are feeding well. I really hope they feed well.... This same pair produced a whole clutch of 11 nonfeeders for me last year, and I really hope that won't be the case again. These new hatchlings are much bigger than last year's clutch, though, and I would be really surprised if it happened again.

I love your pretty babies! Especially the sunglow motleys and stripes :).

What do you do with the kinked little boys? Poor guys :-(. Ya know, I live in the same state, I could come take them off your hands--they'd make lovely "just pets"..... *grins*

I'm thinkin' I need to kidnap a sunglow motley while I'm at it :). Gorgeous!

Thank you for the compliments! Unfortunately, the little boys with kinks all turned out to be nonfeeders, which I have found is pretty typical in snakes with deformities. So, I ended up euthanizing the kinked lavender and more severely kinked sunglow stripe. I held onto the sunglow stripe who just has a barely noticible tiny kink in the middle of his tail, and he is a freebie if anyone wants him. Still no progress on the eating, though, but he has had some forced feedings to sustain him. Here is a picture of him. Your really have to look closely to see the little kink on his tail.
