Hello All! My boyfriend and I got our first corn snake, Zig, (a female Okeetee hatchling) from Rebecca at Triple R Corns about a week and a half ago. She is just over a month old. We had been intensley researching corn snakes for approx 6 months before we found Rebecca. We spent many months banging our heads in frustration with the pet store staff up here. We almost ended up with a 20 gallon aquarium with UV lights and everything that would make a large LIZARD happy LOL. Luckily, after many returns, books, google and Rebecca we established a perfect home for our baby... before her arrival. We were so excited that we had it up and running for weeks before she arrived.

After our many months of research we had set our hearts on getting an Okeetee and a Reverse Okeetee. We knew that one just would not be enough, so we prepared for 2. Rebecca had both of the kinds we wanted. We hope to pick up the reverse this weekend..... (the pet stores had no control of what they received... so they were unable to provide us with what we wanted, which worked out so much better in the end. Rebecca is amazing!)

I have attached some picks of our baby girl. She hid out the first night under the log on the cool side. By the next morning she was louging on top of the tree and out in the morning. She actually does not seem interested in hiding... She is very active, especially from 4 pm through the morning. She moves about a bit during the day, but enjoys lazing around. We picked her up on a Friday night, and Sunday night she ate a F/T pinkie within 5 min of putting her in a feeding tub with it. Then we put her back in her viv and she curled up under the tree on the warm side for about 24 hours. After that she is out louging in the open again :) Then she ate again on Thurday, and last night. She is so mellow. She is always exploring when you handle her, but she has never made a "pose" when our hands go in her home, nor has she struck at anyone (this includes hubby and 2 young children). We bought a snake hook thinking that it would help get her attention before handling etc... but she hates it... she gets away from it and hides. She only likes us using our hands, at which she is calm and doesn't make a run for it.... She is a real character.

We are so satisfied and happy that we got such a healthy, gorgeous and friendly snake.

Will post pics and update when we get our second addition from Rebecca!

-Christina

It is true... I am already addicted lol. Good news is that we have lots of room and aren't overly limited in how many we can have!!! However, we will settle for the two babies for now...... or least a few months :)

Beautiful little baby, and you have set her up with a very nice home! Look out, though, soon you will have more than two!
