Hello from Ontario.

Hello, I'm a newbie with snakes, though I've owned many other pets and still do.
Always wanted a snake growing up, but my mother wasn't a fan.

(I've changed her though with my baby corn, now she wants a lavender.)

Myself as well as my boyfriend each got one at a breeders expo in Ontario last weekend, and we love them.

I'm usually a real talker on forums - too much free time.
So hello everyone.

Hi and welcome! I already had a bunch of corns, but I grabbed a pair of Mexican Black King snakes from the expo. I was looking for some Black Milk snakes too, but not a one to be found there. :( Your mother has good taste in snakes! LOL

Nice to see another Canadian member on here (and from Ontario to boot :D). Glad to hear that you and your boyfriend are enjoying the new snakes!

Welcome from Orillia. Welcome to the Forum AND Welcome to your new addiction.. It truly is an addiction.. i went from 1 corn snake.. to 7 and a ball python -_- i miss having money.

I know what it's like to grow up with a mother who doesn't like snakes. Good job on winning yours over! I'm still working on mine.... Welcome to the forum! :)

Welcome! Its nice to have a few more GTA's on the forum! One of us should become a huge corn breeder and start selling to our little community!

The expo was amazing this weekend! Im glad you guys got a few new babies! I picked up 2 myself :)

cheers!

I used to live in Orillia, I love Lost World if they still have it.
Critter cove never had a big reptile area. :p
I moved to Brampton 2 years ago March, and man do I miss that little town.

Also thank you everyone! You're all very welcoming. :)

Also anyone know when there is going to be another Expo in the GTA area or any great GTA area reptile store, the only places I have around me is Big Als, PJ pets and petsmart. I did read that there is an Expo in Mississauga in November.

It's also really neat to see more people who went to that Expo not as big as the All about pet show, but it was really neat - the first one i've gone too!

Welcome from NB ;)

Good job on getting your Mom to like snakes, my Mom doesn't even know that I have Skittles and I hope to keep it that way, ahaha

Welcome :D You're so lucky . I tried to show my mom a picture of my corns and she nearly passed out. I don't think I'll have much luck in the convincing her department. No matter though I'm ( hopefully) moving out soon anyway.

Thank you Brandy.

and the hard part, seeing if my dad likes them.
He got bit my a milk snake once when he was moving a carpet from a barn and now he doesn't even want to look at them. haha.

Yeah we're looking to move out, just it's not too pet friendly around where I live.
and I'm still renting. I've been looking for a suitable place since around April... everywhere I like doesn't allow pets... and everywhere that allows pets... is way too far away from either mine or my boyfriends work.

People just don't want to rent their house to a zoo.
I think it's mostly the dog though. :p Apparently german shepherds are scary.. haha.

Hello and Welcome! I know you'll enjoy these forums they are truly a wealth of information. How are your little ones doing? :)

Rebecca

Okeetee is doing great - he's the boyfriends.

Mine on the other hand...

He doesn't want to eat, going to try again on friday and leave him be and probably cover him up with a towel or something. Plus he has a grey spot on his belly, but everyone is thinking it's poo so I'm not too worried about that. Hopefully he eats soon though.

Going to keep and eye on him though. Plus I've been speaking to the breeder and he says not to worry and that he will eat sooner or later. And if he's still having troubles in a week or so he'll think of some kind of solutions... be it live feeders or what.

Also thanks, I can't wait for the next expo... I don't doubt I wont come home with something haha.

Always cool to see another Canadian member! And you're not too far from me!

Good luck with your amel! I'm sure you'll find lots of tips and tricks to getting him to eat!
