im new here from ontario canada. came across this site when my new corn got sick and i learned alot fast. i had him in wood shavings from pet store supossidly for snakes but it had cedar in it ,my snake got respitory distress and died within three hours. it is actually the grandsons snake but as sad as it is ,it turned out to be a valluable lesson.

Good point, i'm sure a lot of people have had the same problem... They sell corn snakes at stores like PetSmart and PetCo and out of all of the people that worked there, they didn't know much about and care for corn snakes. So think about all the people setting their vivs up wrong that never find this site... This site is a lifesaver and i mean it literally

Just drink up all the knowledge here and you'll be fine... also, post pics when you get everything set up right :)

Welcome to the forum, we're all here to help :)

STITCH...

Welcome! That certainly is a sad story. I'm glad you found this site...it's been absolutely invaluable to me! Hope to hear some good stories and see some pix in the near future.

replacement

we have convinced the grandson his snake escaped and made arangements to have its replacement delivered on saturday when hes away.hes only 5 but a bigger snake lover you will never find.my wife hates them with a passion but there is three of us so she got outvoted. i will be posting pics once the new one is all set up,our other corn is doing just fine and seems happier since we seperated them and is more motivated since we removed the shavings.he is in with paper towels now until i can find some natural substrate like coco husks.the more i read the more i learn ,i was raised on the beleif that the day you stop learning is the day you die.

Great! You can learn SO much in this Forum...it's fabulous, and you certainly have the desire!

You should do some searches and read up about keeping Corn Snakes separate from one another. There are many important and serious reasons why that's so.

Keep us posted!
