Male or Female??

Well, I decided to practice popping (I've done it before and had Bill Love instruct me at a show once, plus watched the video on their website) so I popped one of the snakes I have that's supposed to be female. It really threw me off, because this female had what looked like hemipenes. Then I sexed a male and the hemipenes were VERY noticeable.

Anyway, I took a picture. Is this a male or female? I'm sorry the photo isn't very good. It was my Mom and I, she held the snake and I popped it. We didn't have a camera man!

There's some clearish white stuff and then a little tiny red dot on each side. I noticed that on the Normal (also supposed to be female) the red dots were not present. However on the Blue Motley (Anery Dilute) 'female' these red dots were present.



Any information an experienced popper can give me would be very helpful, now and in the future. Thanks everyone!

hmm?? if im unsure...practice more on the known male, of course without hurting the little dude! but also what you can do (not sure how many other people use the method) feel right below the males vent it'll feel kinda "rubber bandy" to the touch(hemipenes) where on the female it wont. it took a few babies to finnally feel it & it's not 100% accurate but with mine i'd say about 75% of the time im right. also try a little bit more pressure when rolling your thumb up to pop...you might not be "popping" it all the way. oh & forgot this....it's possible it's a female (what i think you have) reason being,your popping out the scent gland pockets,these are in the same place as the hemipenes on males.
