King Legolas Arrived Safe and Sound

For those following the thread, "Who Knew" about my second purchase, here he is. Mr. King Legolas (Elrond) himself. Shipped from seller Mitchell Mulks out in CA, the snake is even better than I had anticipated in looking at photos of him and the parents over the last month. I could not be happier with my purchase and am SO excited to show my five year old boy tonight who has been on stand by waiting for his arrival. Family cornsnake number two fueling the hobby and passion even further.

Plan on posting a few more pics probably around the weekend. Going to let him get settled tonight, feed him tomorrow with Cruella so they get on the same schedule (at least for now) and then snap a few more pics this weekend. Want to give him time to get acclimated to his new surroundings and what have you.

He is definitely smaller than Cruella was when I picked her up, but she was approximately 12 - 13 weeks at purchase. King Legolas is closer to 10 weeks (Mid-July). He's a bit flighty, but once you let him chill for a minute and so long as you are calm with your movements, he's pretty chill. Much tamer than I anticipated. Can't wait for him to check out his new home.

I didn't even catch that Porductmur! That is so legit! Haha. Going to point that out to my son when I get in as he will SOOO emphasize about him picking out the right and according name, lol. Awesome!

So glad to see that you're happy with him. I have a holdback male from the same pairing last year, and he's almost a solid gold-yellow with very little pattern.

He is definitely smaller than Cruella was when I picked her up,

Yeah, this pair has always produced small hatchlings. I don't know why, but they are always on the small side. Last year I hatched out a sulphur that was 2.5 grams at hatch! Way small. Don't worry, your king will grow!

Name Change (yes... another) and Viv Pics

I'm sure he will Mitch! And for those following the incredible saga of the king. Two items:

One, his name changed for the FINAL and last time as I told my son tonight. He has been infatuated with playing Diablo with my wife and I over the last couple of weeks really getting into it and his favorite boss is apparently, "King Leoric", who happens to have some "gold" in him... I dunno, maybe in his mace, lol. Anyway, that is going to be his name. So, yeah... please welcome, King Leoric, lol.

Attaching two pics of him cruising his viv as I placed him in.

What a pretty little snake you have there. His colors are stunning, and he is adorable, too.

How is Cruella doing?

Cruella is doing awesome. She's due for some photos soon. She just hit her five month mark (September 29) and will be half a year late October, so I'll probably do a progression thread about that time. I got her at three months, so likely one three month photo, one four, one five, one six. Thanks for asking :).

Also, I post a lot more info about the snakes on the Iherp page in regards to updates via blogs. I try not to over do it here and what not as I know some forums (not necessarily this one) frown upon "post junkies" that try and spam their post count.

I use this place more for big updates, asking questions, bringing concerns, and checking out ya'lls awesome animals. I consider this place my snake keeper family. I use Iherp to "track" as a primary tool for me to look back on when I'm trying to remember history of my snakes.

Anyway, link is in my profile. I'm on both religiously though so, approachable at either.

Feeding for the first time this evening

One word - Voracious. He snatched it QUICK and started to constrict very briefly before realizing it was dead and then repositioned himself for his meal. Very happy guy tonight. Now back in the viv for a few days to mellow out and get the sillies out as he is one hyper dude. Going to give him his space and allow him to get used to stuff without bugging him now.

Golddust Bloodred, when I opened the package my mouth just hit the floor of my vehicle and I didn't do anything for like 10 - 20 seconds. We just stared at each other and I was in disbelief. So happy I saw Mr. Mulks post back when.
