Fauna Cornsnake Forum Photo Contest

I'm going to be trying to do this monthly. Rich's pretty much told us if the forums aren't going to be used, they're going to be taken away! Their are still a few newbies that stumble onto Fauna, and a number of Fauna members who love cornsnakes...I don't want to see the Cornsnake forum dropped due to no participation!

To be honest, I think the only thing that could boost Fauna's corn forum would be the elimination of cs.com. I lurk in Fauna pretty heavily, but I almost never go to its corn forum. I guess I'd hate to see it go, but as long as this site's up, life would go on. :shrugs:

I'm a reader/contributor over at Fauna too, but I don't go there to read the corn forum. I'm sure it's a matter of personal preference, but I'd rather see Fauna's corn forum replaced with a link to cornsnakes.com.

I'll second that

I'm with you all the way! I contribute at both sites, however I prefer this site over the corn forum at faunna.

Ditto to Serp! If only a few newbies are going there, then a simple link to where all of the real action is would be more beneficial I think.

I'm a contributing member over there as well, but I go over to Fauna to look at everything BUT corns. Why bother?

CS.com is the best there is for corns, hands down.

I disagree. Their are many enthusiasts that dive into more then just Cornsnakes that would benefit from Fauna maintaining a Cornsnake forum (IE no need to signup to two different forums). Regardless, I'm going to do my best to increase participation. On another note, Rich has made mention that he will simply remove all of the individual snake forums and make one single snake forum rather then keep the individual forums up and running. So their wouldn't be any cornsnake listing if he goes that route.

I don't see why the entire population of this board should all go over to fauna and sign up, just to check the corn forum there, just so that one or two people can talk about cornsnakes with us, without having to sign up over here. I'm sure that will be taken as "overdramatizing" it, but in effect it's what it really comes down to:

1- people over here sign up at fauna so that they can post on (and need to check on) the corn forum over there.
or
2- people over at fauna who are interested in corns sign up over here (it is free, so it's not like this is such a big deal) and come over here when they are interested in talking corns.

If someone is a member of fauna and wants to talk about cornsnakes with other cornsnake enthusiasts, yet they aren't interested enough to sign up for a free account on this site, I don't see why I would want to talk to them about corns. I mean, there are thousands of users here, including many big names, as well as specific categories because there's so much to do here.

Why would I want to go elsewhere to talk to them? :shrugs:
