how often do you chage your snakes water?

Everyday day or 2 and if Irwin decides he wants new water he just poohs in it and makes me change it :grin01:

yea

Its OK to use Bottle spring water and a lot of people say thats the way to go instead of tap, but what i use is a Tap Water Conditioner... It comes in a little bottle, so what I need to do is put 1 gallon of tap water into a milk jug or something, and put 3 drops into it, then its almost as pure as spring water. But on the other hand, my cousin uses untreated tap water and his snakes are doing just as good as mine, so its really up to you.

Hope that helps - Butters

I change it whenever it looks like it needs to be changed (bedding in there, etc.) -- usually every three days or so. I use tap water, which might not be a great idea since our well isn't that great... but it's good enough for the cats, and we use it for cooking etc., so I'm sure it does him no harm.

I use ReptiSafe water conditioner because there are no more regulations on bottled water than there are on tap water, so there is no point in that.

I use tap water but I have a Brita filter on the faucet to clean out the water...so Maize and my new snake (still un-named) get pretty good water from that :0) :grin01:

I use tap water myself. I've had Tiaga for almost 4 yrs now with no ill affects. I know my water is "city" water and treated with chlorine and such but so far it hasn't seemed to have any effect on my babies. Hope this helps.

I buy the cheapest 1 gal size of spring water and change water at weekly feedings or if it becomes dirty.
Bottled Water article

So what I want to know is why you use spring water if you linked us to the site further proving that bottled water has poor FDA standards? :shrugs:

I change the water for my guys every 4-5 days - or when they poop in it, depending on which is soonest!

My bunch have been raised on unmodified tap water and it doesn't seem to have had any ill effects.

I change mine about once a week, or sooner if he's managed to tip it up or something silly like that. I just use tap water and my snake has never had any health problems since we got him, though the water around us is pretty pure any how, so i don't think it is treated as much as some other services.

I change mine once a week as well as washing out their water bowls at the same time. Obviously if they soil it I change it right away.

As for tap, I've been using it exclusively for my corns and they're doing just fine. They're not an extremely delicate animal; so the tap water is just fine. If it's good enough for me, it's good enough for them.

Update

i saw Rogue drink and then lay the whole length of the 40 gal viv!
