I See Snakes...
While out and about playing with our camera today, I tried my hand at capturing a few pictures of the assortment of birds I saw today. I'd been hoping to see some snakes or even a squirrel or two, but well... I guess they all got the memo I wanted to take pictures and decided to avoid me.

Anyway, here's the pics...

First up a little fella that I believe is a type of finch as it was far too small to be a sparrow - but don't quote me on that because I'm no expert when it comes to birds... (Excuse the blurriness, it was windy most of the day and this was my first time photographing birds.)

More to come in the next post...

One more to post...

The last one that I managed to get a decent picture of is this little one:

I don't know what it is, but it kept flying off in front of us as we drove down this one dirt road, almost as if it was leading the way. Picture was taken sometime after 9PM... I have to point that out because Tim told me I'd never get a good picture of it in the dark, with the wind blowing, as it sat in the middle of the road in front of the car.

We also saw ravens, a humming bird, and a stellar blue jay - but we didn't get any decent pics of them. Not for lack of trying, of course.

I have some tree and flower pics that Tim and I both took, but I haven't edited them yet. I'll post them sometime tomorrow...

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Jenn

Very nice bird pics! We have cardinals at our feeder regularly, as well as a woodpecker, doves, bluejays, and other assorted sparrows/finches. However, the birds I HATE are grackles--they travel in packs and chase every other bird off. Sometimes there are huge flocks that come through here, as well as some nesting in our trees, and they always travel in at least 2-3 or more "packs". I literally have to remove the feeder for awhile to discourage them. UGH!!!

I really like the bluebird pics!
Thanks Nanci! The bluebirds were great, hardly afraid of me at all, though they'd get kind of anxious if I got too close to their bird house where they were building their nest, so I kept well back.

I love the stellar jays, such beautiful birds. They're mean as snot at times though. And the greckles sound a lot like starlings, nuisances when they congregate like that.

Thanks again for the compliments on the pics everyone! =)
