Hello, hello ^.=.^

I pretty much just hatched into this forum, thought I would say hello and introduce myself. My name is Sarah. I am a Natural Area interpreter for two conservation authorities in Canada. I love my job, connecting people and nature is a wonderful way to make a living. I enjoy every animal under the sun and have recently decided to become the provider for my very first corn snake.

In university I volunteered in a herpetarium and have to admitt that the corn snakes were my favourite, from hatchling to adult they were the friendliest and most inquisitive, apart from some pretty cute tortoises.

Though the experience in the herpetarium was not what I would call limiting by any means, I thought I'd pop on here to expand my knowledge in corn snakes.

So, I think I'll stop typing about myself and I look forward to reading posts from everyone.

Thanks!

Thanks Alan :)

I was just reading through some old threads, I had some questions concerning Amel's and lighting, but thought I would search the threads to see if my questions had already been answered. Looks like there's a lot to read XD

How long have you been a cornsnake enthusiast?

How long have you been a cornsnake enthusiast?

I've had Cheerio for only a bit over 3 years. She's easily the best animal I have had to care for. I keep going back and forth on getting another, I think I want a normal.
I may be thwarted on the 'nother snake. At a reptile show yesterday my wife fell in love with bearded dragons.

Hahaha, the beardies will get you, Alan! I have to say though, they have GIGANTIC appetites and their feces smell awful ;) I took care of quite a few in the herpetarium. They are a lot of fun though; very lively to have around and one of the easiest lizards to care for given the proper space.

Is there not enough room in your current enclosure for two snakes? Can't be all that bad with some beardies for the wife and another corn for yourself... (I am too much of an animal lover!)

And thank you Maize! I like how you've used the spainish name for corn for your user name, classy. I would love to show you a photo of my new corn once I get her/him! I am hopefully buying one of Ruth Hanney's corns at an expo this coming fall. She came highly recommended to me and in turn, recommended this site to me!

I believe you'll fit right in on this forum!
No, I have a small house and Cheerio's home takes up quite a bit of space already. I can make room for one more viv and I think it'll be a dragon's house.

welcome !!! all reptiles are awesome but corns & beardies r my favs....beardies r easy to take care of if you have the right substrate & believe me i tried them all...if you keep spot cleaning them they r very clean

Oh yes, I love beardies. If I had the time, I would have a little bit of everything ;) I loved my friend Trisha's beardies, they followed us around and were a lively pair, that is for sure! I would come over for a visit and find a beardie at the door for greetings.

I love leopard geckos as well, but I am not a fan of keeping crickets. I kept crickets when I had pictus(panther) geckos and found it to be not my style.

I think a corn snake will fit me just perfect :)

And thanks everyone for the welcomes!
