mmh this marathon island locality girl shed 3 weeks ago and then she ran a marathon for WEEKS...I began to become nervous but this morning when I looked in her tank I found...17 good eggs and a VERY empty girl :laugh:



 
Congrats! Marathon Key animals are very nice- hard to come by here in America- glad to see "across the pond" you had a nice clutch.

I have a pair of Boot Key Rosy Rats. Boot Key is a small key located at the southern end of Marathon Key and adjacent to Key Vaca. The island is largely underdeveloped despite having a bridge spanning Boot Key Harbor to Key Vaca, which is now closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Immediately adjacent to Boot Key is a 38 acre tract of land from which the US Government broadcasts Radio Marti. These broadcasts consist of news and cultural information intended for residents of Cuba.

So far she's bred two years in a row. 2008 clutch: 10 eggs & 2009 clutch: 12 eggs.

your boot key localities look awesome! here in europe, it's also extremely hard to get some of those jewels. as far as I know, my marathon pair is the only one here :shrugs:
 
BEAUTIFUL! And I can pretty much assure you: No marathons in Finland. Not that I know of anyway and I guess I would have heard of them if there were any. :)

Hey Marinneli and JimGERcream, sad they aren't more avialiable over there. My friend (here in Texas is dating a Finnish girl) and should be moving to Finland in the next 6 months (unless she decides to move to America). I believe he's been checking into the paperwork involved to bring some corns over there. If he gets everything in order, I'll make sure to track down some rosy rats for him to bring... A friend breeds Big Pine Keys....

Again JinGERcream- great clutch- those babies will be a HUGE hit in Germany I bet!

Yes, everything is still underway. We are looking at a pretty large export to Finland at the moment. Permanent future residence is unknown, but we WILL be exporting, possibly breeding, and selling in Finland in the very near future.

Let me know what needs to be sen in that part of the world and we'll try to get it there!
 
Exciting! Those are gorgeous localities and they parents look like beautiful specimen. Looking forward to seeing more pics of the babies! You've gotta be on edge right now!?

Can't wait to see them completly hatched out. There are 7 to 9 little buggers to go. 7 eggs didn't make it during the incubation, 2 eggs look a bit strange but I think there's a good chance that they are alive.
