My "sort of" Mystery Boy!

Mr. Enigma!
I purchased this little guy from Sean at VMSHerp late last year. His name is Druid. When I got him, he refused to eat, but with a little persistence, he quickly changed his mind and now he pounds pinks and small rat pups. He is growing nice and fast!

I call him the mystery because he was sold to us as Blizzard het Bloodred, Anery and Hypo. Sean mentioned that he could be a Whiteout het Anery and Hypo, but he couldn't tell. So he errred on the side of caution.

Now, Druid came from a clutch of 20 and 18 of them were Whiteouts and one was a Ghost (who I also own).

Now Druid has a pure white belly and though you can't see it in the pic, he has the prominent Bloodred head marking. I'm not sure what he is and the only way I am going to find out, is when he grows up, by putting him to a straight Bloodred. If their offspring come out all Bloodred (because Whiteout is Homo Bloodred), then I know he is a Whiteout. If I get a mix match of Bloodreds and Normals, then I know he is a Blizzard. Either way, he and his sister have a beautiful array of genetics to play with.

Well, here he is:

Thanks for looking!

I am not that fond of white snakes but he is lovely -- is it the camera or does he have really subtle pink & lavender tones?

Nice little snake! I'm betting he's a whiteout if you can see his top markings that clearly but no checkers on the belly. I have a whiteout that looks just like him. Mine's a mean little stinker, though.

That is not the camera! Those are really subtle pink and lavender tones. He is definitely a beauty and thanks!

I'm going to try to get Christine to take some better pics of him. I'm leaning toward Whiteout, but differing judgment till I can prove him out.

Thanks

What did Sean say he was, he labels everything he sells. Your guy looks more like an Avalanche to me.

He listed him as a Blizzard het Bloodred, Anery and Hypo. But, sent a note in the shipping box regarding the possibility of him being a Whiteout, but that he wasn't sure. Now, when talking to my wife, we thought that there was a chance that he could be an Avalanche, but.... :shrugs:

I think the only way to figure him out is in a few years, and some breeding.

Actully whiteouts can have a pattern. Here is a picture of my whiteout from Serpenco "striking" a pose for the camera. He has pretty visible pattern on top and a totally clear belly.

Wendy is right. I have seen many with patterning. Actually, you can go to VMSHerps website right now and check them out. But, as I have mentioned earlier in this thread, it's all going to depend on what it proves out, when he gets older. Then I will have a more definitive answer.

As I have mentioned, Druid has a wonderful array of usable genetics to play with. For fun, I also purchased his sister. She is a Ghost (Anery A and Hypo) het Amel Bloodred and Charcoal (Anery B).

I have some reservations about pairing these two together, because of the problem I am having now. How do you tell a Whiteout from an Avalanche or Blizzard. I mean the rest of them are easy, but it makes me wonder.

Here is his sister:
