Dash the miracle corn!

Lolo

Surrounded by snakes
You can read the whole story on "Misc Corn Discussions," but to make a long story short, this pretty gal was stuck in my dashboard for THREE WEEKS. She finally emerged yesterday, and seems to be recovering just fine... still nice & chubby, but she does have some indentations from being squished for weeks. Fyi, she's a normal 12 year-old rescue, given to me by a fellow herper - and for obvious reasons, I changed her name from "Prongs" to "Dash." :D

Warm and happy, but starting to huff at me... guess she needs more alone time, LOL.

P.S. Not sure if it's visible, but if you're wondering why her tail looks weird, that's a permanent fatty deposit - already checked by vets, and determined to be harmless. Her breeding days are definitely over, though!

So chubby! She looks a little dehydrated, too. Figures, since she's been in a car for so long! XD I'm glad to finally see the escapee. <3

Lovely big girlie! Truly meant to be here on Earth or a while longer lol...

Sorry but - How can you tell if a snake looks dehydrated?? Thanks

Thanks all! I fed her earlier today - 2 live hopper mice (all I had available) - and she took them like they were candy. :) She probably is a tad dehydrated from her ordeal, but of course I gave her a big bowl of water asap... or you might be seeing the creases that were from being squished, I believe. Otherwise she seems a-okay, which really is a miracle. Not even a sign of RI!

Usually it looks like they have wrinkly skin, even if they're not underweight or about to shed. Here's an example of a dehydrated snake (taken myself at a pet shop), who also has a stuck shed as a result... I actually took the photo because I thought he/she was pretty, and didn't notice how bad the condition was until viewing it later. :(

Her fat rolls are hilarious. *grins* Glad she finally came out of the dash for you!

Maybe I should have named her "Michelin Woman" instead, LOL. :D Her previous owner (rescuer) said she's a tubbo, despite being on a diet for the last 6 months... I'll put her back on that diet, once I'm sure she has recovered from the ordeal. So far she seems fine!

Maybe it's a good thing she's a chubbo, she had some stored calories to burn while stuck in the car! But her coloring is lovely and I'm so glad she's out of the car!!

Me too. ;) And I agree, it's probably a good thing she's a chubbo... she had MORE than enough to spare, LOL.
