I am new to herpetology but am often seeing that people list there pets with this number system. I have put most of it together but what is the first number male or female???

Got this from the common terms thread on this forum.

Abbreviations Commonly Used In Reference To Snakes And/Or Corn Snakes
1.2.0 = 1 male 2 female 0 sex unknown
1.1 = would then mean 1 male 1 female, if there are no unknowns then it is often left out

I had to ask the same question when I got here too lol.
 
I found the answer in the FAQ. I got REALLY confused when I saw something like 73.185 that's when I went WTF and looked it up.
 
Yeah some of the members who breed have crazy numbers like that. I asked about it to, I was like "How can you have 0.2 children?" lol
 
Trust me I had trouble with that too... I was thinking, how can you have one and a half corns? Do I want to know??? But I figured it out pretty quick like you.

I have been wondering the same thing. I knew the male went first (go figure-ha ha) but wasn't sure when all the numbers were . this and . that.

0.1 (we think willie is a williamenia now)
2.0 cats-BoBo and Oscar
1.0 dog-Jasper
2.0 Beta fish
2.1 kids-Ryan, Jake and Chasity
and hubby Mike
