After we've seem some "strange Pewters" this summer without being "strange" for a long time, I'd like to ad an animal from a clutch Bloodred het. Pewter x Pewter:

Comparison between Pewter and the strange animal (especially take a look at it's eyes - pewter is black, strange has black and grey)

Nice animal. Very contrasty. The background is lighter than a pewter's typical background, the saddle borders more pronounced, and those eyes...the eyes certainly aren't typical Charcoal, are they.

I was just wondering if you ended up with an anery charcoal blood.

Whatever it is, it's very pretty. Thanks for sharing.

(Wish I had a pic of that anery blood as a youngster. Believe it or not, he's over a year now and smaller than some of my biggest hatchlings from this year. Some snakes just grow at their own pace. )

yes, this one lookes like a normal charcoal from the colors but belive me, the vent is totally clear!

Both parents are Bloodred het Pewter. That's why I called it a 'strange' Pewter in the beginning. See the confusion here? LOL

How many times did it eat in these 6 weeks? Mine did eat about every 5 days straight from the first shed. So she grew quickly and changed color quickly.

No, I am not saying yours is a Bloodred. But I am saying mine changed quickly because it grew very very fast.

here is my anery blood! she is a yr now!

I think you remember some things wrong :)
When you first postet the picture of your animal I mentioned Bloodred cause of the yellow between the first 3-4 blotches. Another thing I wrote to you was, that I've seen such animals last year, they also where very small and some kind of "too early" ot of the egg.

As we both know, color is one of the last thing a snake develops in the egg, so I don't have any problem with the fact, that your snake changed quickly cause she/he didn't develope his full color in the egg. And I don't think that it has much to do with very fast growing - that seems to be a dutch X-File - you hardly ever feed you animals and they grow like hell.

But I've seen the "strange" one from Daniel myself and all I can tell you is, that you have to adjust you monitor cause there is no yellow and there never was. The animal was normal developed when it hatched and I don't think that it will do such a dramatic change in color.

I also think, that you won't find such a dramatic change like your animal did at normal developed hatchlings - at least on the already known morphs.

Still interesting - what the hell is it? :shrugs:
